There are six ways to get off the island: The Verrazano, Bayonne and Goethals Bridges, The Outerbridge Crossing, and the Staten Island Ferry and the St. George Ferry. All bridges and tunnels charge a toll. You are eligible for the Staten Island Resident discount for the EZ Pass.

  • To Brooklyn: The toll going over the Verrazano Bridge is $11.19 Tolls-by-Mail rate, $6.94 EZ Pass rate, or $2.75 if you register your EZ Pass as a SI resident, which is paid on the Staten Island side of the bridge.

  • To New Jersey:  All rates for Lincoln & Holland tunnels, the George Washington, Bayonne & Goethals bridges, and the Outerbridge Crossing are  $18.31 Tolls-by Mail rate, $16.06 EZ Pass peak hours rate (Weekdays: 6am - 10am, 4pm - 8pm, Saturday & Sunday: 11am - 9pm), or $14.06 EZ Pass off peak hours rate (all other hours). Tolls are collected entering New York, no tolls are collected entering New Jersey. All Port Authority crossings are cashless and no longer accept cash toll payments

  • Use your Welcome Letter from Housing as proof of Staten Island residency when applying for an EZ Pass!

  • Service members working in Bayonne might be interested in the Port Authority Staten Island Bridges Plan (NY/NJ PASI Plan):

    • $8.03 per trip at the Goethals Bridge, Bayonne Bridge and Outerbridge Crossing, provided you make at least three Staten Island-bound trips in a calendar month. • Ferry Terminal South Parking Lot: This municipal lot is closest to the terminal, but it can fill up, especially during peak hours. It offers both short-term and long-term metered parking.

  • On-Street Parking: Metered parking is available along the streets near the terminal. You can pay at a machine or in the Park NYC app

  • The St. George Ferry (Fast Ferry) connects Staten Island with the West Side of Manhattan in Battery Park City and Midtown West. One way tickets are $4.50 and 10 trip pass is $29.00 (Parking options would be the same as Staten Island Ferry)

    • Tickets can be purchased on the NYC Ferry App, and at Ticket Vending Machines located on NYC Ferry landings.

    • The Ferry Discount Program permits eligible individuals to purchase a reduced fare One-Way Ticket for $1.45.
