Coast Guard Housing is located on historical Fort Wadsworth which is part of the Gateway National Recreation Area, consisting of 26,000 acres of recreational park in Staten Island, NY. There are 23 available housing units totaling 137 two to four bedroom apartments. Fort Wadsworth housing is patrolled by Coast Guard Sector New York Police Department to ensure the safety and well being of the community.
All apartments are equipped with a refrigerator, gas stove with vented hood, dishwasher, washer/dryer hook-ups and cable ready access is in the majority of the rooms. Cable television and internet setup is available from local service providers. Housing units have carport parking with additional storage units as well as trash/recycle rooms. Other facilities on Fort Wadsworth include 7 playgrounds, camping area, picnic tables, basketball court, community garden, Fitness Center, Gymnasium, Coast Guard MWR office, CG Exchange, US Family Health Clinic and Family Meeting Center.
